BALL!! PART ONE.

On the 15th of May the day everyone was EAGERLY waiting for finally came!!
The day that we had been planning for since the beginning of the year. The day we'd been talking about everyday since the beginning of the year.

IT WAS BALL DAY!!!!!

I shall run through this in chronological order with photos and all (:
We still had to go to school for the first 3 periods, so being the good girl I am; I went.

Before I left to get my hair and makeup done.

My nails; man they pissed me off. I couldn't do much with them on! It was so hard to unbutton my pants when I had to change into my dress. Thank goodness they were only the stick on ones; I ripped them off when I got home :D

Back home after getting hair and makeup done :D
You can't really see cause of the bad lighting, but I went pretty neutral with earthy colours and a very nice brown eyeshadow!!

Yay for GHD curls!

I quite like this picture.

I highly recommend The Body Shop for getting your makeup done for special occasions. The effort and attention to detail they put into giving you a makeover is amazing!! They allocate 1 hour to their makeovers but clearly don't mind going over (as in my case it went for 1hour and 30 minutes because I also brought fake eyelashes for them to put on and that made me late for my hair appointment oops). When I booked my makeover I thought 1 hour is a really long time; I just thought they'd chuck on some foundation, possibly concealer, eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow, blush and lip gloss and BAM off you go $40 thanks.

But they do SOO much more. The first thing they did was cleanse, tone and moisturise!! My face felt sooo nice and clean after that, it was really refreshing. She even checked out my skin type and then picked one of the best suiting products for me; the cleanser, toner and moisturiser was all aloe based, it didn't have the yuky aloe smell I hate too!! Then we had a chat about what look I wanted and I showed her a picture of my dress (it's always a good idea to bring a picture of your dress!!) and then we decided on something and off she went. Every product she used was described to me in indepth detail about the products it contains, why it's good for your skin and the good deeds it does (when brought) for the community!! She just put so much effort into it and the other Body Shop workers also came around and talked to me while I was there saying that it looked really nice and I know that they probably have to do that but it certainly made a gal feel special!

The whole experience was lovely. They also have a redemption thing where if you buy $40 (or more) worth of makeup then your makeover would be free!!! So you'd pretty much be getting two for one! A lot of other places had like makeup for $50+ and you don't even get any makeup so once you wash off the makeup $50 is goneeee. But with the Body Shop makovers you get makeup (if you choose to buy makeup; you don't if you don't want too) as well as a makeover!!

Not only is it a good deal, their products are good for your skin and you're helping communities in need and the environment!! I'm not saying that all the Body Shops will be this good but my experience was fantastic and I loved every moment of it and wouldn't hesitate to go back if I ever need to get my makeup done for a special occasion!!

Oh my that was quite long haha. SORRY! But I just had to praise them!!
*the following pics were taken by my brother, with his very awesome(& heavy!) DSLR :D
Not a very flattering angle.

The only pic of my hair and it's a bad pic :(
This was the picture I took to the hairdressers...

...but it ended up more like this

I didn't really like the way it turned out, I wanted the curls to pinned up higher to get the sense that its kind of up but also down.

If you don't have a trusted and regular hairdresser and need to go get your hair done, I suggest/strong recommend that you head to one of the very well known big franchised well known hairdresses (eg. Volona and Associates, Maurice Meade etc.). I left booking my appointment too late and had to book it around my makeup time (and I also don't have ONE hairdresser; I change a lot) so I had to get it done at a surburban hairdressing place. At first I kind of thought "oh yeah nothing wrong with that, I'm sure they'll do it nice and its like $10-$20 cheaper." But boy was I wrong, they didn't care much it was just bam bam bam, done $65 thanks. My mates who had gotten their hair done at those well known hairdressers were very very happy with it and it looked great!!! I'm not saying that ALL surburban hairdressers are like that but it wasn't just me who experienced it(and I'm also not saying that ALL Volona and Associates etc. will be good either). But if I had the chance to do it again I definately would choose one of the well known hairdressers, it's well worth the extra $20.
